  • Discover fun aspects of K-water through its mascot Bangwoori

On a rainy autumn day in November, a new Bangwoori showed up. The way Bangwoori looked was new and special enough to make a large number of people gravitate toward it. On November 16, which marked K-water’s 56th anniversary, a pop-up store featuring Bangwoori as a K-water employee working in the office opened. The store offers a product lineup featuring Bangwoori going viral on social media, including rag dolls, cushions, pens, and calendars. There was a long line of people waiting for the store to open, stretching along the stairs up to the second floor, showing how popular the mascot is. In Bangwoori’s office are not only goods but also a photo zone and a claw machine, allowing shoppers to have fun by meeting the mascot in various settings and through different products. In particular, President Yun and all members of the management participated in a cushion-making project, indicating that the mascot does matter to K-water. The cushions that the executives stuffed with the filling quickly ran out as soon as the store opened. K-water employees wore bright smiles on their faces as they left the store, holding Bangwoori-featured items in both hands.

Bangwoori gives back to local communities

While stealing the hearts of K-water employees with its lethal cute charm, Bangwoori is busy giving back to society. All the proceeds generated from the pop-up store will go to K-water’s social contribution activities to help local communities. This is one of the reasons K-water employees bought far more Bangwoori goods than they actually needed. For people who want to donate to charity but do not have time to visit charities personally or do not know how to make a donation, the pop-up store served as a bridge connecting donors and charities by selling goods and donating the proceeds to charity. Bangwoori is also a bridge of love between family members, friends, and other loved ones. Majority of K-water employees bought goods as gift to their loved ones including their children, girlfriends or boyfriends, and friends. As the mascot of K-water, Bangwoori clearly gets the message of love and charity across on behalf of all K-water employees as we prepare to say goodbye to year 2023.
