Culture Station Seoul 284

This Renaissance-style building features a domed roof as well as red brick walls and birchwood flooring, with history spanning over 100 years. Restored as Culture Station Seoul 284, it has been transformed into a space where history and art converge, offering visitors a new delight today.

Upon entering the building, visitors first encounter the central hall and the main waiting area on the 1st floor where various exhibitions and performances are hosted. Exhibitions and related programs are staged on the 2nd floor, with workshops held at the former Railway Transportation Office (RTO) next to the main building.

Horanggasy Creative Studio in Gwangju

Located in Modern History Cultural Village in Gwangju Metropolitan City, Horanggasy Creative Studio was a residence for Western missionaries until 1904. The missionaries who settled in the city contributed significantly not only to Gwangju’s modernization but also to the advancement of women’s rights, medicine, and education in Korea. Today, the studio carries on this legacy as a creative and exhibition space for artists.

Artists of diverse genres—painting, photography, media art, performance, etc.—gather here, making it an ideal place where they can focus on creation. Despite its location at the center of the city, the nearby Yangnim Mountain provides fresh, tranquil air. The modern historical heritage scattered around offers endless inspiration even during a simple stroll.

Next to the studio, a 10-pyeong space named Horang Gasinamu artPolygon was formerly used as a garage; it now serves as a venue for exhibitions, lectures, performances, and various cultural programs.

Daejeon Artists’ House

As a hub of cultural and artistic life for over 30 years, the old Community Cultural Center has been reopened as a larger space. As a five-story building with a basement, Daejeon Artists’ House is a complex cultural space housing a multipurpose performance hall, exhibition spaces, and studios. The multipurpose performance hall Nuri Hall features automatically folding seats, allowing artists to express freely their experimental creativity.

Though its name suggests a space reserved for artists, Daejeon Artists’ House embodies the philosophy that “everyone can be an artist.” Beyond exhibitions and performances, it serves as a platform where professional and amateur creators alike can share art, and citizens can experience art in daily life. Citizens may simply enjoy as audiences or actively participate in creative activities, engaging with others through art. In doing so, they come to embrace art as a natural part of everyday life.
