K-water presents innovative water technologies at the expo

K-water and 14 water-related Korean companies took part in ‘CES 2023’, a consumer electronics innovation expo held in Las Vegas, USA from January 5 to 8, 2023.
During the expo, K-water, Korea’s leading water management corporation introduced 10 of its innovative water technologies including Digital Garam +, a digital twin-based water technoogy, smart management of dam safety and algal blooms, a smart water purification system, and the smart city and smart village Water Round. By joining the global event together with 14 water corporations, K-water helped promote the growth of South Korea’s water industry and contributed to mutual growth with the local water industry. Particularly, K-water ran its exhibition booth at Eureka Park where innovative new technologies and products are exhibited. K-water presented its superior technologies under the theme of ‘water-energy-city-nexus’, including the IoT-based water quaity and indoor air quality-monitoring solution and digital twin-based 3D platform for smart city services.
Nine companies(10 products) including BET and WiPlat that participated in the expo under K-water’s sponsorship were recognized with the ‘CES Innovation Award’ from the Consumer Technology Association(CTA), garnering high attention and expectations from many partners from home and abroad.

Growing in partnership with the water industry

With K-water seeking to grow with water-related corporations, since 2018, it has identified 157 water-related innovative startups, and provided support for scale-up including mentoring, technology demonstration and investment promotion. As a result, sales of around KRW 20 million have been generated and more than 1,100 jobs have been created.
Particularky, K-water accompanied domestic water corporations to global expos including CES 2023, U.S.-based AWWA ACE and WETEX in Dubai to help them find overseas buyers by offering various supports for pilot localization projects, and private sector-government joint projects.
Director Jeong-ho Ahn Ahn at K-water’s Green Infrastructure Business said, “I find it very meaningful to have an opportunity to present the innovative technologies that K-water and domestic water corporations have jointly developed at a major global event. K-water will provide all the support possible for water startups with innovative technologies to grow into global unicorn companies.”
