Employees’ Happiness and Trust as One of the Top Values

Global trust management rating agency Global Place to Work (GPTW) listed K-water as one of the two best workplaces in Korea out of the top 100 corporations. GPTW works with 150 countries including US and Europe on rating trust management by corporations, and it has been publishing the best workplace list in Korea since 2007. This year, the evaluation included the diagnosis on trust management and a broad spectrum of corporate culture with focus on corporate efforts to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction. Last May, K-water declared that it would embrace joint labor-management family-friendly business practices and make K-water a great workplace for parents to work for as part of efforts to improve its corporate culture. As a result, K-water scored an all-time high in the trust management index since the evaluation started in 2008, making it to the Top 2 Great Workplaces in Korea.

The award ceremony was held concurrently with the “Trust Management Leadership Conference” where a speaker from K-water gave a lecture on its corporate culture as the backbone of the impressive results. Themed "K-water, a happy workplace promoting mutual understanding among employees," the lecture introduced various programs aimed at creating a better corporate culture: “BESPOKE,” a team-customized coaching program to encourage communication and cooperation among team members; “Blending,” a program to help junior employees successfully integrate into the organization; “childcare-centered flexible work schedule” and other family-friendly practices for employees with young children; and “TalkTalk Feedback Bulletin” that allows employees to offer their opinions anonymously on how to create a better corporate culture.

The best workplace recognition will give K-water fresh impetus to create a better workplace built on mutual respect and trust, where work-family balance is attainable for all employees. Going forward, K-water will further step up its efforts to raise its global profile as a great place to work for in the international community.
