  • Communication Campaign to Promote the 50th Anniversary of Soyang Dam

    K-water conducted a relay communication campaign in Seoul and Chuncheon to mark the 50th anniversary of Soyang Dam. The event took place on October 9 to 11 in Seoul and on October 13 and 14 in Chuncehon. Many people visited Cheonggye Plaza during the long holiday, and joined the event to commemorate and reflect on the history and significance of Soyang Dam. During the event, the history and achievements of Soyang Dam as well as the hydrothermal energy cluster were showcased at a glance, in conjunction with K-water’s contributions to supply clean and safe water. Korail runs the ITX Youth Wrapping Train between Yongsan and Chuncheon until November in commemoration of the 50th anniversary, providing a more fun and pleasant ride for passengers.

    All about Soyang Dam at Cheonggyecheon Stream

    On October 9, the Relay Communication Campaign kicked off at Cheonggye Plaza where various hands-on activities and programs were available for people to learn about the history, present, future and vision of Soyang Dam. The ‘Soyang Dam Exhibition Booth’, the ‘Experience Booth’ with an OX quiz, the ‘Party Booth’ for offering congratulatory messages, and the ‘Bangwoori 3-Cut Photo Booth’ were some of the most popular activities. People were given stamps at these booths to prove their participation in the activities. Upon obtaining three stamps, they were allowed to participate in a raffle draw to win Bangwoori souvenirs. The raffle draw allowing them to win goods adorned with a cute Bangwoori character was the most popular event. On October 9, singer Gyeong Seo put on a busking show in celebration of the anniversary. At the center of the plaza stood a 5m-tall sculpture of ‘Bangwoori’, K-water’s mascot to welcome citizens, as a top landmark and popular photo spot.
