A Future Shaped by Youths, the Star of Tomorrow
Youths are the star of the future. That’s why we need to get youths involved in the discussion of climate crisis and responses to it. To do this, K-water has launched a youth advisory group to listen to what the future generation has to say.

Building a Strong Water Industry with Youths
On July 2, K-water held a launching ceremony for the 1stYouthAdvisoryGroup.Theadvisorygroupwasformedtorespondtothegovernment’s youth policy and get future generations to share their thoughts on how to cope with the looming climate crisis. The Youth Advisory Group is composed of 23 members of the future generation from different fields, including college students, researchers, employees of environment-related companies, farmers, CEOs of startups, school teachers and employees of international organizations. They will carry out tasks and activities for the operation of the group and individual businesses as members of one of the three subgroups: Climate Crisis and Water Safety, Water Wellbeing and Regional Vitality and Water of the Future and Youths. They are expected to contribute through creative ideas from diverse perspectives as they come from various fields.
During the launching ceremony, K-water explained its direction for new growth strategies, including the creation of a water industry innovation ecosystem, followed by a talk concert with President Yoon Seog-dae, where the members of the Youth Advisory Group were invited to share their interests and expectations. Next, K-water presented its digital twin technology, a key water management solution designed to cope with frequent floods. The youth audience showed a keen interest in the presentation, as it opened their eyes to the importance of scientific water management. K-water will keep its ears open for what the group has to say and reflect their opinions in its water management practices to ensure that it supplies clean and safe water to the public.
