K-water Expands Entry into Vietnam’s Water Market

Strengthened Partnership with
Saigon Water Corporation on Water Supply Projects
K-water signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Saigon Water Corporation (SAWACO)—a public water utility in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam—on May 30 to expand cooperation in water supply projects and exchange digital water management technologies.
Accounting for approximately 20% of Vietnam’s GDP, Ho Chi Minh City is the country’s economic and industrial hub. The demand for water is rapidly increasing as the city continues to expand, requiring a stable, sustainable water management system and the development of multiple new water supply projects. Responding to these local needs, K-water is establishing a strategic partnership with SAWACO to collaborate on water supply operations, introduce digital-based water management technologies, and enhance cooperation through joint technical assessments and personnel exchange.
Under the agreement, K-water will assist in conducting technical assessments of local water treatment plants managed by SAWACO and support the integration of customized technologies suited to local conditions. Furthermore, K-water plans to introduce cutting-edge water management technologies on a pilot basis such as Smart Water Network Management (SWNM) and AI-based water treatment plants to explore and expand new cooperative projects centered on Ho Chi Minh City. These initiatives will also serve as a platform for local marketing and as a foundation for export-oriented business development.
Through this collaboration with Vietnam—which is emerging as a key axis of Southeast Asia's economic growth with strong demand for sustainable water solutions—K-water aims to optimize the Korean smart water management model for the Vietnamese context and lay the foundation for mutual growth in the water industry.
