ISC ready to strengthen the water cooperation framework
Amid the worsening climate crisis, resolving water issues is considered a major global challenge requiring global cooperation to find solutions. A group of former and current parliamentary speakers from 36 countries visited the comprehensive water surveillance center of K-water’s Hangang River Basin Headquarters on April 11. The visit was organized to provide them with an opportunity to learn about the latest water management technologies and expand global cooperation to cope with global water issues. The group included 12 representatives including Pakistan Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Galani.
K-water CEO Seogdae Yun explained 3 super-gap technologies including Digital Twin, AI Water Purification Plant, and SWNM as well as other smart water management technologies that are leading the global market. In particular, K-water’s Water Management Digital Twin—one of the world’s leading smart water management technologies—is in operation at the five major river basins in Korea and has been in the spotlight since July last year as a next-generation technology that will be highly useful in responding to the climate crisis. The parliamentary speakers paid close attention to the digital twin-based water management system in action at the center and had in-depth discussions on ways of working together on water problems, laying the groundwork for expanding the channels of global water cooperation previously led by governments, international organizations and private corporations to include parliaments.
“K-water will further strengthen its leadership in water management, building on this special opportunity to increase global cooperation and create new opportunities for sustainable growth and future industries,” K-water CEO Yun said. Going forward, K-water will take full advantage of its scientific integrated water management capacity to foster global exchanges and take the lead in resolving water problems.
